As the world copes with Covid-19, schoolkids are still having their summer camps, but on screens.

Along with the online classes, Jusco School Kadma initiated an online summer camp, from Monday, for students of classes II and III.

The five-day camp will teach children yoga, aerobics, taekwondo and other exercises to keep them fit and agile.

The online camp sessions on Zoom platform will be held every day between 8am and noon.

The school is also taking this opportunity to teach children to make healthy breakfasts, and easy nutritional dishes for a healthy diet. Other activities like singing, dancing, playing drums along and other artistic skills will also be honed online.

Principal of Jusco School Kadma, Jhumjhumi Nandi, said: “We are planning different activities for different classes. Classes IV and V were involved in an online tiffin making competition on Mother’s Day, for example. Since everything is shut now we all are trying our best to keep our students busy through creativity. We are also sending outdoor activity videos as many students are missing their games classes.”

Not only Jusco School, but the Tata Steel sports department too is organising an online summer camp where online videos of 17 sporting disciplines are being uploaded on the Tata Steel website.

Usually, the Tata Steel camp is a mega outdoors affair every year.

This year, the online camp has weekly sessions with Dronacharya awardees, Arjuna awardees and other popular sports personalities sharing their experiences.

The camp is on since May 11 and will continue till May 30.

The Marwari Yuva Manch Steel City also organised some online fun sessions a couple of weeks ago.
