US President Donald Trump has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his "historic", landslide win in West Bengal Assembly polls on Monday, said a White House spokesperson Kush Desai, according to a report by IANS.

"Just last month on their phone call, President Trump expressed to Prime Minister his admiration and how lucky India is to have him as its leader," Desai told IANS.

Desai added that Trump congratulated Modi for his recent "historic" and "decisive" election win.
