Go for it, Mango! The gateway to Jamshedpur, more known for its power and water shortage, will now be the city’s leisure destination.

Metamorphic Leisure and Entertainment Limited, a city-based private firm, plans to come up with a four-lane bowling alley, a gaming hub with over 30 hi-tech international favourites, a multi-cuisine restaurant, food courts, banquet hall and more under one roof on the third floor of the Big Bazaar and Eylex building.

The 22,000sqft area, christened M-Pavillion and touted as Jharkhand’s first game zone, was inaugurated by Jamshedpur MP Ajoy Kumar on Sunday.

“It’s our gift to the citizens of Jamshedpur this Xmas and New Year season. Here, youngsters and the young at heart are widely travelled. People go to metros and destinations abroad and get exposed to global trends in leisure. They look forward to fun options at home. This is the gap we want to fill,” managing director of Metamorphic Leisure and Entertainment R. Raman Singh said.

Though United Club, Bistupur, has a bowling alley but its entry is restricted to members. The one at M-Pavillion, named M-Bowling, will be open to all.

Games apart, there’s a full platter of eating options at M-Fusion, he said.

“People of different age groups, including children, can come and enjoy a wide variety of games and food,” Singh added.

Apart from M-Fusion, there are eight food courts. “We have a snacks counter that will serve 30 varieties of noodles,” said Singh.

Another highlight is the banquet hall spread across 4,000sqft.

The banquet hall can host 500 persons at a time, perfect for birthday or anniversary bashes.

Kaushalendra Das, an employee of the entertainment company, said some of the popular video games include bike race, car driving, hammering and air hockey. Bowling apart, the game zone also has popular options such as snooker and billiards.

“There is a 10 per cent discount on all games till January 31, 2014. Prices have been kept affordable. A round of bowling will cost Rs 125, for instance,” he said.

Those opting for video games will get rechargeable cards at a booth near the entry.

“One can get the card recharged after entering the game zone. Charges will vary between Rs 25 and Rs 100,” he said.

If the response on Day One was anything to go by, M- Pavillion is a hit.

“It’s a cool place to hang out with friends. The idea is definitely exciting because one gets to eat, play and chill out all at one place,” said Rahul Gupta, a Plus Two student and a resident of Dimna Road in Mango.

So, before you catch Aamir Khan, bikes and babes in Dhoom 3, create some dhamaka of your own.
