The highly-anticipated teaser of the August 11 film Byomkesh O Durgo Rahasya was released recently at Vivanta by Taj, offering a glimpse into this murder mystery. Superstar Dev portrays the role of the super sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi for the first time on screen while Rukmini Maitra plays Satyabati. Ambarish Bhattacharya will be seen as Ajit. Other cast members include Rajatava Dutta, Shantilal Mukherjee, Satyam Bhattacharya and Debesh Chattopadhyay, amongst others. The film is directed by Birsa Dasgupta and jointly produced by Shadow Films and Dev Entertainment Ventures.

“Satyabati is such an iconic character. She is so loveable and has been written beautifully in this story. I did workshops and gradually developed the nuances of Satyabati,” said Rukmini.

In this riveting tale, Byomkesh, accompanied by his trusted ally Ajit, finds himself entangled in the investigation of the untimely demise of Professor Ishan Chandra Majumder, believed to be caused by a snake bite. Teaming up with DSP Purandar Pandey, Byomkesh sets out to find the secrets surrounding Ramkishore, a buried treasure hidden within a fort and a series of unnatural deaths. Byomkesh navigates through a web of incidents.
