Conceived by Stylefile co-founders Preeti Goenka and Sumedha Saraogi, the fashion showing at the courtyard of Old Bungalow (7/6 Burdwan Road, Alipore) was curated by Anamika Khanna and choreographed by Indrani Dasgupta. The looks were put together from the collections of the participating designers at the 15th edition of Stylefile, an annual lifestyle extravaganza. Pristine whites to metallic reds, lehnga skirts to drapes and layers, smoked-out winged liner to matte red lips, mathapatti and low bun. It was a hot show on a pleasant evening. The shakha was the stand-out accessory. “We are in Bengal… the shakha is stylish. You don’t have to stick to the convention that shakha is only meant for so and so. I like to take traditional things and put them out to the world to say that ‘this can be done’. We took different pieces from different designers. The whole idea is, you don’t have to wear a designer top to bottom. You can have fun with your clothes,” said Anamika. Snapshopts from Stylefile, held on Friday in association with t2...

The courtyard installation was the talking point at Stylefile this year. “Everybody is just loving the look. It justifies all the effort that we’ve put in. We thought of having a new element, something creative, so we did an installation. It’s made of wooden sticks,” said Sumedha.

Sanjay Budhia went straight to Shivam Somani’s stall and picked up envelopes and cards. “Like content and container is important, product and packaging is equally important! So the first impression is made by the envelope or the outer cover, hence I picked up some of them,” he said.
Minu Budhia was happy to be back at Stylefile. “It means the official arrival of winter!” she smiled.

The makeshift art gallery served as a great adda spot and also to rest one’s feet before another round of browse-and-buy.

Vivek Saraogi with daughter Avantika, who made her Stylefile debut as an artist with her photo series, Silversmith. “Very, very excited… it’s a little weird… usually I come and I am like, I want to shop! Now I just don’t want to shop. I just want to stand here and be with my pieces and tell people about my concept,” said Avantika.

Phuchka shots (Edible Art by Rajesh Gupta) were the must-have sip-and-bite for most.
