The first time Ranbir Kapoor saw his Barfi! co-star Ileana D’Cruz on screen, he saw “her belly button more than her face”! Kapoor Jr recently spilled the beans during the promotion of their film and had Ileana blushing for hours. “During Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, when we were shooting in Ooty, the TV in my room only had south Indian channels. Every other song had Ileana. Obviously, the cameraperson loved her belly button. He would focus more on Ileana’s belly button than her face,” Ranbir recalled with a laugh. Clearly, Ranbir loved every minute of Ileana’s discomfiture as he loudly added, “you have a gorgeous belly button”. And Ranbir wonders why everyone calls him Mr Flirt!

Sanjay Dutt’s next film with producers Ashtavinayak seems to be in trouble. Slated for a December release, Sher is set in the Gujarat underworld with Sanjay playing a role inspired by gangster Sharman Munjha. According to production sources, the film which is almost 70 per cent complete, has run into financial trouble. “The producers are hoping that Sanjay (left) helps them get the film completed either by reducing his fees or coming on board as a co-producer,” says the source. Sanjay, we hear, has his own agenda. He has lost interest in the production and wants to get his full payment cleared regardless of the financial crunch. The producers will try their luck with asking the film’s other lead Vivek Oberoi for help. At last count, he was still very gung-ho about the film.

With two monumental hits and one unmitigated disaster to her name, one would expect this newbie to be flying high. But recently, the actress gave a new meaning to the words brash and rude. The CEO of a brand the actress was supposed to walk the ramp for at one of the many fashion weeks in the country was invited to meet her at her residence last week. At the meeting, the CEO was supposed to explain to the actress the ethos of his brand and this was to be followed by fittings for the designer outfit for the fashion show. The CEO waited for over an hour for her to travel the distance between her bedroom and living room. Once she did grace him with her presence, she was more interested in trying out her clothes and the number of front row invites she’d get for her family. Every time the CEO would start talking, she’d interrupt him. At one point she even said, “I am not interested in knowing the history and geography of your jewellery. I just need to wear the jewellery and walk.” The CEO is still wondering if the lakhs they spent on signing on the actress would have been spent better on getting her etiquette lessons.
