Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Archana Gautam and Shalin Bhanot have joined Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia as finalists for the Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss 16 after winning the last nomination task of the season.
The ‘Mandali’ gang members — Shiv Thakare, MC Stan and Sumbul Touqeer — have been nominated for eviction from the house this week.
For the last nomination task of the season, Bigg Boss called every housemate to the activity area individually. Nimrit, who won the ‘ticket to finale week’, was safe from nominations and didn’t participate in the task. The housemates were divided into two teams. Team A comprised Priyanka, Archana and Shalin while Shiv, Stan and Sumbul were part of Team B.
During the task, the contestants had to stay for nine minutes in the activity area without getting distracted. The team that collectively clocked a time closer to 27 minutes was declared the winner.
The catch in this task was that ace fashion designer Ken Ferns was present in the activity area to distract the contestants by sharing what their image is like in the public domain. Even Bigg Boss engaged with the housemates, reading out tweets from fans rooting for the victory of their favourite contestant.
While announcing the results, Bigg Boss said that Shalin and Sumbul proved to be the deciding players in this task as one of them was responsible for the victory of their team and the other for their team’s defeat. In Team A, Archana clocked 14 minutes while Priyanka stayed in the activity area for 12 minutes. Among the Team B members, Shiv hit a time of nine minutes 50 seconds while Stan registered a time of 10 minutes and 10 seconds. Shalin, who clocked 7 minutes, ensured Team A’s victory while Sumbul’s record of 17 minutes led to her team’s loss by taking their total score farther away from 27 minutes.
Sumbul was upset as her team was nominated for eviction because of her performance. Nimrit and Shiv tried to console her but she remained adamant. This annoyed Nimrit and she asked Sumbul to stop behaving in such a manner.
