Is it their best song ever? Well, it’s their best video ever for sure!

One Direction unveiled their new music video Best Song Ever on Vevo (available in India on YouTube) on Monday night, and it’s been buzzing in every 1D fan’s head since (18 million views till Wednesday afternoon). Why, you ask? Because each of the boys plays a double role!

The British boy band — Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik — pulls off a fun act, dressing (and cross-dressing) as characters from the show business. Written and directed by James Corden and Ben Winston, the six-minute video opens with Niall and Louis as film industry execs — old man Harvey and super-hairy but bald Jonny (a tribute to the fab Tom Cruise cameo in the 2008 movie Tropic Thunder) respectively, discussing Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in their Hollywood office.

Their conversation is interrupted by their “sexy assistant” (Zayn, who plays the seductress to the hilt with long dark hair, specs and perfect make-up!) who introduces One Direction to Harvey and Jonny. The studio executives try hard to impress the boys but pronounces Zayn as Zack, not once but twice!

Enter heart-throb Harry as “marketing guy” Marcel — dressed in a waistcoat, backbrushed hair and geek glasses — to pitch his ideas for the 1D guys.

Marcel introduces the band to Leeroy the blond choreographer (played by Liam), who intimidates the boys with his bizarre dance moves! Disappointed by the industry bigwigs and disgusted with their ideas, 1D wreaks havoc in the Hollywood office and starts singing their new song.... And we danced all night to the best song ever...

Coming to the song, it’s peppy, cheeky and catchy. The best actor of ’em all? Zayn, who walks and talks so sexy! One of the funniest moments is when Zayn serves Jonny (Louis) and Harvey (Niall) water and the boys check out his, er... her, bum.

The aww moment? When Zayn writes “This is US!” on their pin-up poster! <blush>
