Next time you are sipping on a Talli Tuesday or singing your heart out at Karaoke Night in Xrong Place on Sarat Banerjee Road, don’t miss the nibbles. The pub menu has new additions that focus on finger foods, like Baby corn Cigar Rolls, Moroccan Chicken Skewers and Spicy Baked Potatoes. These are neither small portions nor an entire meal but just right to not let you feel hungry. If you are looking for more than finger food, try the Toasted Butterfly Garlic Prawns and Xrong Special Lamb Burger. Here’s what we loved.
Bacon Wrapped Meatball: If you are looking for a slightly filling starter, this is it. Made of minced mutton, onions, chillies and house spice, the meatballs are first wrapped in cheese slices and then in bacon. The melty cheese, bacon and spicy meatballs are what foodgasm is made of! Dab them in the sweet chilli dip for a sweet taste. Rs 395
Pork Chops with BBQ Sauce: Slabs of the meat with the right proportion of fat is slow-cooked until tender and tossed in BBQ sauce. The result? Tender, juicy pork chops, with hash brown and grilled veggies on the side. Rs 450
Irish Trash Can: The Irish Trash Can wears a new look — it’s served in a boot-shaped glass. You can also go for Fruit Daiquiri that has fresh fruits like apple, strawberry and cherry, topped with white rum and ice.
Cheesy Stuffed Mushroom Caps: The tops of the mushrooms are sliced off and then stuffed with cheese, herbs and a dash of chilli and then deep-fried. We like how the mushroom and cheese balance out the spiciness. A portion comes with eight pieces. Rs 250
Calamari Fritters: Want to get a beach shack vibe closer home? Pop some crispy fried calamari while chugging chilled beer. The Calamari Fritters are served in a cone and accompanied by two dips — cocktail and mint. We liked how the calamari was not overfried or rubbery. Rs 350
