MasterChef India 2023 is going international — the cooking reality show, which airs weeknights at 9pm on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV, is going to Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, for its semi-final week.

In a teaser shared by the channel, the three judges on the show — celebrity chefs Ranveer Brar, Vikas Khanna and Garima Arora — are seen taking a tour of the island along with contestants Kamaldeep Kaur, Aruna Vijay, Priyanka Kundu Biswas, Sachin Khatwani, Gurkirat Singh, Suvarna Bagul, Santa Sarmah and Nayajyoti Saikia.

The home cooks and judges are seen enjoying their time outside the confines of the MasterChef kitchen as they visit the Yas Ferrari World and enjoy the rides at Yas Water World.

However, their stay in Abu Dhabi is not all fun. The contestants must prove their mettle to advance to the grand final of the culinary challenge. They are tasked with preparing dishes inspired by Arabic street food in teams of two. However, much to the shock of the home cooks, the judges announce that they’d taste only one dish from each team.

In the second task on the island, the contestants face the mystery box challenge. However, each box comes with a different cooking time. The teaser shows Priyanka opting for the box with 45 minutes of cooking time. It’s a make-or-break for the cooks as the dish they prepare will seal their fate on the show.

Kamaldeep Kaur, a homemaker from Punjab, has already become the first finalist of MasterChef India 2023 by winning the ‘ticket to finale’ last week.
