Contrary to speculation, Manoj Bajpayee’s spy-thriller series The Family Man will not return with a Season 3 this Holi, a tweet from the actor confirmed on Thursday.
In a video shared on social media on Tuesday, Bajpayee had hinted that he would soon be returning with his “family” this Holi. Fans had assumed that the actor was talking about the third season of the popular Prime Video series The Family Man. However, Bajpayee put an end to all the speculations on Thursday by announcing the release date of his upcoming Disney+ Hostar film Gulmohar.
“Family se milane ka vaada kiya tha, toh nibhana bhi padega na? Aa rahi hai Batra Family on 3rd March. Gulmohar only on @DisneyPlusHS,” he tweeted alongside a poster of the upcoming film.
Directed by Rahul Chittella, Gulmohar will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from March 3. The film also stars Sharmila Tagore, Suraj Sharma and Simran Rishi Bagga alongside Bajpayee.
The film revolves around three generations of the Batra family who are gearing up to move out of their ancestral residence. This triggers a rediscovery of their bonds as the members deal with their personal problems and insecurities.
Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, The Family Man dropped on Amazon Prime Video in 2019 to a stupendous response from the audience. The second season, which premiered in 2021, also received positive feedback from the viewers. Fans of the show have been eagerly waiting for the third season of this thriller series which features Manoj Bajpayee as a family man who moonlights as a secret service agent.
