International Emmy Awards 2023: Shefali Shah gets nominated for Delhi Crime 2, Jim Sarbh for Rocket Boys, Vir Das for Landing

The 51st International Emmy Awards ceremony will be held in New York on November 20

Indian actors Shefali Shah, Jim Sarbh and Vir Das have been nominated for the 2023 International Emmy Awards, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced on their official website on Tuesday.

Shefali has secured a nomination in the Best Performance by an Actress category for her role in the Netflix crime-drama series Delhi Crime 2. The first season of the series, which came out in 2019, won an Emmy in the Best Drama series category in 2020.

Sharing the news on Instagram, the 50-year-old actress wrote, “OMGGGGG I still can’t believe it. Feel so so honoured to be nominated at the International Emmys alongside such esteemed artists.”

“This one is really special and more so because it is for a character I am very very close to, Vartika Chaturvedi and for my favourite show #DelhiCrime2. This is for all of us in #DelhiCrime,” she added.

Jim Sarbh has been nominated in the Best Performance by an Actor category for the 2022 SonyLIV web series Rocket Boys alongside other actors like Gustavo Bassani, Martin Freeman and Jonas Karlsson.

The 36-year-old shared the news on Instagram, remembering the day when he received the news. “I was an hour late to watch Dirty Harry with a neighbour, so I ran up, told him about the nom, and then we proceeded to watch the movie. ‘Do you feel lucky, punk?’ Yes,” he wrote. “I loved playing Dr. Bhabha. Rocket Boys is deeply etched in my mind and heart. ❤️ @pannuabhay @nikkhiladvani,” the Made in Heaven actor added.

Actor-comedian Vir Das has been nominated for an Emmy in the Best Comedy category for his Netflix special Vir Das: Landing. This is the actor’s second Emmy nomination. His show has been nominated alongside Le Flambeau, El Encargado and Derry Girls Season 3.

“WHAT!!!!!! I got nominated for an Emmy award for best comedy 😊 my second iEmmy nomination,” the 44-year-old comedian and actor wrote on Instagram. “To everyone who worked on this show Vir Das Landing, I am SO proud of you, and so grateful to @netflix_in for letting me tell my story. Off we go! #VirDasLanding @iemmys well…this is a weird full circle 😊,” he added.

At the ceremony, film producer Ekta Kapoor will also be presented with the Directorate Award for her “trailblazing career and impact on the Indian television landscape”.

The 51st International Emmy Awards ceremony will be held in New York on November 20.
