Is this your first time in India?
Yes, yes! It’s my first time in India… even as a kid, I have always wanted to visit my country. And I am finally here. What makes the visit even better? The fact that I am on Bigg Boss!
How did Bigg Boss happen?
To be honest, I hadn’t heard of Bigg Boss earlier. But when I was offered it, I thought it sounded very exciting. I Googled it and watched a few episodes of the previous season on YouTube and I thought that it looked like a really, really fun and crazy show! All the people that were on the show were so beautiful and hot. I was dying to be on it.
Given your background, how much spicier will Bigg Boss get now?
Oh, it’s a lot spicy already! But I am sure I can always add to it (laughs). Bigg Boss is so high on entertainment value that there is always space for more. I haven’t really planned how I am going to make things more interesting in the way that you are talking about, but I am sure it will be a happier and more fun place when I am there. For starters, I am going to make them laugh. Some of them on that show could really do with a good laugh!
What kind of agenda are you going in with?
My agenda would be to be myself. I don’t know if they will know who I am. I think some of the guys on the show will recognise me (laughs), but I am not so sure about the girls. Pooja Bedi seems to know a lot of people. Maybe she would have heard about me. Given the format of the show, I am quite certain that there will be some kind of trouble between me and some of the girls, but I am prepared for it. Hopefully, that will make the show a lot more entertaining.
Bigg Boss doesn’t have cameras in the bathrooms unlike some other international editions of the show. Disappointed?
The US version doesn’t have it in the showers, but yes, it’s there in the bathrooms. I guess you can’t have certain things on Indian reality shows given the culture and the privacy laws. But, from whatever I have seen, things are pretty much interesting even without cameras everywhere! (Laughs.)
Do you find any of the male contestants hot?
All the guys (Amar Upadhyay, Akashdeep Saigal and Siddharth Bharadwaj) on the show are good-looking, but what I am looking at is not just physical beauty. I always go for guys who are smart and can speak well. I don’t know if any of the guys on the show fit that criteria. I will have to go in and find out first-hand!
You have said that most of your fans are from India…
Eighty per cent of the traffic that comes to my website (www.sunnyleone.com) is from India. I have huge fans from this country. Over the last 10 hours, I have got so many emails from my fans in India wanting to know whether I am going to be on Bigg Boss. My name is also being Googled throughout India as we speak!
Are you familiar with Bollywood?
I read somewhere that I was offered a Bollywood film sometime ago, but that isn’t true. Bigg Boss is the first legitimate offer that I have got from India. But all said and done, I really want to work in this country. These are my roots… this is who I am and it would truly be amazing to have a career in my own country.
Any favourites you want to work with in Bollywood?
Oh yes! I would love to do a film with the host of the show…. Sanjay Dutt. And of course, Salman Khan. He’s really hot. I would love to get naughty with him!
