Season 7 of How I Met Your Mother opened with Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) as a groom and ended with Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders) as a bride. Which does not necessarily mean they walked down the aisle together. Or, did they?! If they hadn’t, well... then... Robin could be the woman under the yellow umbrella, and hence, The Mother.... Robin & Barney? really?

Though they had briefly dated in Season 5 and chances of them getting hitched are quite high, we are not sure if the I-am-single-and-in-a-hurry-to-mingle Barney is the right guy for the adorable Robin. She might just be better off with Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), who cares for her more than Barney does (till now, of course)!

What we can expect in season 8:If Robin is Barney’s bride, then Quinn and Barney should be breaking up this season. Barney was marrying Nora in Season 7 but ended up getting engaged to Quinn.

And, will Ted find a nice girl to hook up with? Remember he was a wreck in the last episode of Season 7, when ex-girlfriend Victoria (Ashley Williams) changed her mind at the last moment and ran away from their wedding?

Lily, Marshall & Baby:Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) had a baby boy named Marvin Wait-for-it Eriksen (how cute!) in Season 7. We wait to see how the cute couple cope with parenting and parenthood. They will also have to decide on the godparents for their son and it will be fun to see who is finally pipped to the post — Barney or Ted.

The details of Barney’s job remain hush-hush. Barney is said to be working at the Goliath National Bank, but nothing else is revealed. Every time his friends ask him about his job, all they get is ‘Please’!

Marshall, Lily and Ted have been friends since their college days. They went to Wesleyan University where Ted is said to have studied architecture. But Wesleyan does not have an architecture course.

HIMYM has featured the real-life partners of three of the main characters in more than one episode. Alyson’s husband Alexis Denisof played Robin’s colleague Sandy Rivers, Cobie’s husband Taran Killam has done duty as Barney’s co-worker Gary Blauman and Neil’s partner David Burtka played Scooter, Lily’s high-school boyfriend.
