As the promos of Dadagiri 2 start playing on the screen, Sourav Ganguly breaks into a playful smile. Eight months after his debut as a winsome quizmaster on the Bengali beam, the sporting hero from Behala is padding up for some more mind-tease action.

Dadagiri 2 goes on air on Zee Bangla from September 2 (Thursday to Saturday, 9.30pm to 11pm) and the former Team India skipper can barely contain his excitement. “This is a fun experience for me! This year it is going to be a little easier because I know how it works. There is no preparation. Ghar theke cha kheye chole ashtam jemon aager baar, ebaro tai,” smiled Sourav, in a striped grey suit on the Dadagiri sets at Howrah’s Dumurjola stadium on Wednesday. t2 caught him for a quick chat...

How much he missed being a quizmaster:

I did not miss it. I enjoyed the eight-month break because it was hard work during those 64 episodes.

His expectations from season 2:

I have no expectations ever since cricket went out of my life. I did not have any expectations in the first year, neither do I have it this year. As long as people watch the show from 9.30pm to 11pm, I am happy!

One thing he likes about the show:

I enjoy the show. I have got no pressures. I just come and do the best I can.

One thing he doesn’t like about the show:

I have to stand for eight hours!

If he talked cricket with Amitabh Bachchan, the brand ambassador for Airtel Champions League Twenty20 for which Sourav will be a commentator:

Yes, of course I spoke to him about cricket. I have spoken to him about cricket in the past too. It’s always great to meet him. He is almost close to 70 and still he works so hard! He follows every player. He knows the game in and out.
