After making its presence felt in cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, New Delhi, Pune, Vijayawada, Chennai and Indore, smoothie and juice lounge Drunken Monkey has arrived in Calcutta on Sarat Bose Road (not to be confused with resto-pub The Drunken Monkey in Kaikhali).
The range of smoothies is extensive, with over 170 varieties to choose from. From hydrating smoothies and coffee concoctions to healthy meals in a bottle and detox drinks... the juice and smoothie lounge is well armed.
The idea behind the chain is to keep the smoothies free of any artificial flavours. “There is a huge craze for healthy juices, detox drinks and the like today, hence Drunken Monkey is an answer to this trend in the city and we have tried our best to keep something that suits every palate,” said Pallavi Sharma, owner of Sharma Foods, the Calcutta franchisee.

Call it a meal-in-a-bottle. Horlicks is blended with cornflakes, muesli, cashew nuts, almonds and a tinge of apple. #WholesomeGoodness

If you love your greens, the Sexy Spinach — a mix of spinach, lime, cucumber and green grapes — is just what the doctor ordered. Say hello to clear skin!

This sinful smoothie packed in a 375ml bottle is under the ‘indulgence range’. Think Nutella + vanilla ice cream + milk + chocolate syrup + cocoa powder. #MustTry

A part of their detox range, this is made up of black grapes along with spinach, mint and apple. This refreshing drink has the benefits of resveratrol (antioxidant properties) believed to assist in weight loss.
