Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s comedy drama Fukrey 3 has trumped Vivek Agnihotri’s political drama The Vaccine War at the box office in terms of advance bookings for Day 1.
The advance booking numbers for Fukrey 3 in national chains at 9:30pm on September 27 for its opening day set the stage for a remarkable performance. PVR and Inox alone sold a staggering 24,300 tickets, with Cinepolis contributing an additional 6,500, totalling an impressive 30,800 tickets sold in advance bookings.
In comparison, The Vaccine War — Agnihotri’s latest film after his successful The Kashmir Files — could sell only 4,000 tickets in PVR and Inox, with an additional 1,250 tickets in Cinepolis, resulting in a total of 5,250 tickets sold in advance bookings.
Fukrey 3’s early success in advance bookings suggests that the latest instalment of the comedy franchise has the upper hand in the box office clash with The Vaccine War.
