After making an electrifying debut at Bacardi NH7 Weekender last year, Fossils is all set to tour the US for eight gigs in eight states, from October 16 to November 1.

“Doing a chain of concerts is very thrilling. We’ll be doing two-hour shows, with new chart-toppers and old favourites like Shono amra ki shobai, Ma. We are getting requests for songs like Hok kolorob, Ek notun azadi. We’ll do numbers from films like Mahanagar@Kolkata, and also an unplugged version of Manob boma, where I play acoustic guitar,” said Rupam.

This will be the 16-year-old Bangla rock band’s third US tour. “And since we have been invited back, it means we have managed to make an impact. It means people want to hear us more. We’ll be doing only originals. We’ve already done gigs in Australia, Dubai and the UK, and the third US tour is a feather in our cap,” added the Fossils frontman.

The eight cities on the Fossils map are New Jersey, Dallas, Wilmington, San Francisco, Jersey City, Tampa, Boston and Seattle, and the band members are kicked. “I’d surely go to Greenwich Village. Also, I really want to try some Cuban food,” said guitarist Allan Ao.

Big on Nirvana and Pearl Jam, the Fossils members are looking forward to visiting a museum that houses Nirvana memorabilia, or going on a guided tour in Seattle.

The band also plans to spend a lot of time at guitar centres. Rupam will be playing guitar on stage “after some time”.
