Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum orchestrate a fake moon landing in the first trailer of Fly Me to the Moon, released by Sony and Apple on Monday.

The romcom helmed by Riverdale director Greg Berlanti is a whimsical spin on the 1960s space race. Johansson, who also serves as the producer of the film, takes on the role of a savvy marketing executive in the film.

Set in 1969, the two-minute-32-second trailer shows Johansson’s Kelly Jones trying to orchestrate a fake moon landing in the face of dwindling public interest in the moon mission. Tatum’s Cole Davis as a NASA executive makes every effort to salvage public support for the mission.

The trailer goes on to show Jones employing tactics akin to those used in movie productions, such as hiring stunt doubles for a simulated moon landing in case the actual landing fails. Despite the moral and credibility dilemmas this presents, each member of the team pushes their boundaries and makes profound sacrifices to ensure the mission’s success.

“The whole world will be watching. #FlyMeToTheMoon starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum – coming exclusively to movie theaters this July,” the official handle of Sony Pictures wrote on X alongside the trailer video.

Alongside Johansson and Tatum, Fly Me to the Moon features an ensemble cast including Jim Rash, Ray Romano, Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Nick Dillenburg, Christian Zuber, and Woody Harrelson.
