Mithun Chakraborty had made his Bolly debut as a parar gunda in Amitabh Bachchan’s Do Anjaane but Chhota B Abhishek has always been a chela to ‘Dada’ a la Guru. The big coming together happened on the sets of Dance India Dance L’il Champs. Junior Bachchan appeared on the Zee TV dance reality show on a day when Grand Master Mithunda’s birthday (June 16) was being celebrated.

Ever since he was a child, whenever Dada visited the Bachchan household, little Abhishek would insist that the Disco Dancer teach him some cool moves from his latest dance hits. Abhishek would then use those very moves in all the dance competitions he would participate in as a kid. Since then, the two have shared a great bond. It is a different matter that by his admission, the better dancers in the group were Adi (yes, the reclusive Yash Raj Films boss Aditya Chopra) and Farhan Akhtar.

It was at Bachchan Jr’s request that a giant strawberry cake with the letters GM denoting Grand Master was rolled up on stage. What followed was a grand celebration with the judges, the skippers and the kids digging into the yummy cake and dancing to Abhishek’s popular dance hit One Love (Rakht). While the kids couldn’t get enough of their favourite star, thankfully minus his black and white Raavan stripes, one has to wait till Saturday when the channel would beam Abhishek shaking a leg to Kajra re with the kids on the show, at 9.30pm on Zee TV.
