Subarna Ray Chaudhuri, who has made the journey from Lake View Road to Bandra Bolly, is all excited about this weekend’s biggie: Dishoom. Starring John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Varun Dhawan and directed by Varun’s elder brother Rohit, Dishoom is a fun caper that’s been shot across Mumbai, Morocco and Abu Dhabi. “It was 20 days of shoot in Morocco and 40 days in Abu Dhabi. Since Dishoom centres on events stretched over only 36 hours, it was very tough because we had to keep repeating outfits. We had made 10 to 15 sets of each costume because it used to get dirty in the action scenes,” says Subarna, who created the lookbook for films like Lootera, Gunday, Kick and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The ace stylist, who is currently working on a Chinese film, took t2 through Dishoom’s style story.

SEXY IN JOHN’S TEE WITH NO PANTS! In the song Sau tarah ke, Jacqueline was the only girl dancing with a thousand men! She wears a knitted T-shirt made of stretchable fabric from China — the tee actually belongs to John Abraham! John wears an Under Armour T-shirt throughout the film and on top, he wears this off-white T-shirt. In Sau tarah ke, Jacqueline wears the tee with only a belt and that made her look extremely sexy. We wanted her to look exactly like that because sometimes a girl looks very sexy in a man’s T-shirt and with no pants! Jacqueline’s look in the film is subtle yet very sexy. She didn’t push to look hot.

RIP, RIP, RIP! Almost through the film, Jacqueline is seen wearing this pair of ripped dungarees. I had to order 10 pairs from Asos.com and then tear and rip them out. She wanted them to be a little loose. I had to rip all the dungarees identically to make them look alike. Throughout the film, Jacqueline wears a pair of leather boots which my karigars made. Her character (Ishika) wears a Rolex watch... she is shown to be a shoplifter and so we tried to establish the fact that she must have picked up the watch from somewhere. She also wears a silver ring with an opaque white moonstone and a three-layered chain with small pendants. She also wears a red leather bohemian jacket with hand embroidery on it. She carries a silver-grey backpack with silver studs on it. All her denims and tank tops were tailormade by me.
