Shahid Kapoor is a remorseless killing machine on a warpath against a drug cartel in the action-packed trailer of his upcoming crime-thriller film Bloody Daddy, set to premiere on Jio Cinema on June 9.

The one-minute-56-second long trailer, dropped by Jio Studios on Wednesday, introduces us to a gun-toting, short-tempered Shahid who believes in shooting and punching his way through problems.

The trailer begins with Shahid’s Sumair walking away from a scene of crime. “Every night has a story. This is the story of a night when things got really f****d up,” he says in an intense voiceover. What follows is a series of high-octane action sequences where Shahid beats up bad guys without batting an eyelid.

The trailer then shows events from 12 hours back, where Sumair gets a call from a drug lord (Ronit Bose Roy). Sumair has a bag of cocaine which actually belongs to the latter. “Do not complicate matters. You know me very well,” the gangster warns. Sumair is asked to bring the bag to Ronit and in return take what belongs to him.

As the trailer progresses, it is revealed that the bag that Sumair delivered to the drug-peddling gang actually contained packets of flour. Fuming with anger, the gang-leader sends his men to get the actual drugs back. Sumair gets sucked into a web of crime and deceit involving cops and criminals as he embarks on a dangerous mission.

Apart from Shahid and Ronit, Bloody Daddy also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Rajeev Khandelwal, Diana Penty and Ankur Bhatia. It is based on the Frederic Jardin-directed 2011 French action thriller Sleepless Night.
