Arshad Warsi’s Dhananjay Rajpoot and Barun Sobti’s Nikhil Nair are back to stop the ‘dark side’ from taking over the world in the first look teaser of the mythological crime thriller series Asur 2, set to stream on Jio Cinema from June 1.
Unveiled by the streaming service on Wednesday evening, the one-minute-long teaser begins with a voice-over — ‘The world needs new order’. The video then cuts to a montage of tensed characters, shocked by the series of events occurring in their lives. In an intense scene, Warsi’s Dhananjay points his gun at a person and says, “You are answerable to your God, I am answerable to no one.” The clip also shows glimpses of teen Shubh Joshi (Vishesh Bansal) committing murders.
The video frequently shows close-up shots of the eerie mask used in the first season. Barun’s Nikhil confronts Dhanajay — “I will not repeat the mistake I did years ago by not stopping you. This world does not need another demon” — as the teaser comes to an end. The clip also shows Ridhi Dogra’s Nushrat Saeed in action and introduces Meiyang Chang’s character.
“SHIGHRA HI MULAQAT HOGI. Get ready to embrace your dark side as ASUR returns. #Asur2OnJioCinema streaming free, 1 June onwards,” the caption for the teaser reads on YouTube.

The first season of the show was released in 2020 on VOOT. It was co-written by Gaurav Shukla, Niren Bhatt, Abhijeet Khuman and Pranay Patwardhan. Season 1 of Asur was helmed by Oni Sen.
The second season of Asur will see Warsi, Barun, Ridhi, Anupria Goenka, Gaurav Arora, Vishesh Bansal, Amey Wagh and Pawan Chopra reprising their respective roles. Meiyang is a new addition to the cast.
