Chhapra, Aug. 27: Jai Prakash University registrar Vijay Pratap Kumar has served a showcause notice on the principal of ZA Islamia College, Siwan, Assad Hasan, on the irregularities in payment to teaching and non-teaching employees and has sought an explanation within four days.
The registrar has asked as to why about 15 teachers of the college were not paid their salaries for March, April and May this year.
The registrar has asked why the teachers bearing the identification numbers 10, 11, 16, 18, 19, 33, 55, 56, 57, 73, 79 and 83, who were appointed between 1990 and 1994 and had been receiving their salaries, were suddenly not paid for the three months even though three teachers, who were appointed in 2009, received their payment.
According to the rules, the appointments in minority colleges are made after the sanction of a selection committee constituted by the university.
However, the teachers bearing numbers 14, 15 and 62 have neither got their approval nor the government has sanctioned their salaries. Despite this, these teachers have been paid, flouting norms and regulations.
Five laboratory instructors, who were promoted from the posts of lab technicians also, do not fit the criteria according to the Supreme Court order.
The registrar told The Telegraph that the principal of the college has not replied to the notice so far and a reminder has also been sent to him.
“The principal has been told that disciplinary action will be initiated against him on the charges of flouting the university orders,” he added.
