Kashi Prasad Jayaswal Research Institute organised a talk on Retrospecting the Indian Response to the First World War in its centenary year by Yuvraj Dev Prasad, former head, department of history, Patna University, in Bihar Research Society, Patna Museum.

Y.C. Simhadri, the vice-chancellor of Patna University, chaired the event, which was inaugurated by Bijoy Kumar Choudhary, director of Kashi Prasad Jayaswal Research Institute.

Yuvraj Dev Prasad talked about the Indian role and response to the war.

On the significance of Indians fighting along with British soldiers he said the myth of white invincibility was destroyed.

The mid-term conference, organised by Bihar Ophthalmological Society and Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society, was held in Adhiveshan Bhavan, on Sunday.

Corneal ulcer management, the precautions to be taken during corneal transplant and keratitis were some of the topics

Prashant Garg, a doctor at L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, said, "Even small injuries to the eye can lead to corneal cancer."
