Patna, Feb. 25: A Buxar-based youth was arrested to-day for allegedly uploading an obscene video clip of a boy and a girl, studying in a reputed school in the state capital, on a popular video-sharing website.

Police said the accused was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration at a private institute in Patna.

“An FIR was lodged by the principal of the school, where the victims study, on November 26 last year. He said the video, uploaded on the site, tarnished the image of the institute. The FIR was lodged with the Patliputra police station,” an officer said.

The case was referred to deputy superintendent of police (law and order) Lalit Sharma, who also heads the cyber crime investigation unit of Patna police.

“The heading of the video had the names of the school and the two students. We first contacted Google Inc. and requested them to block the video. The accused had uploaded the video from a gmail ID. We obtained the Internet Protocol (IP) address,” Sharma told The Telegraph.

“During investigation, the police came to know about another Rediffmail ID of the accused. We also contacted Rediff,” he added.

The police came to know that the youth had taken the Internet connection from MTS. “We caught the youth today. He had uploaded the video on July 10 last year. He said he had got the MTS connection on July 9. The police are questioning him,” Sharma said.

The police said they were verifying whether the two victims shown in the video were students of the school, as is mentioned in the clip, or not.
