Darbhanga: Teaching and non-teaching employees of Lalit Narayan Mithila University have not received their salaries for December, January and February.

"It becomes very difficult for us to perform, as the delay in payment of salary keeps us tensed about how to manage daily expenses of the household and the office. The government is not at all sensitive towards our plight," said Anupam Kumar Jha, secretary, Vishwavidyalay Mahavidyalay Karmachari Sangh.

"The government has not allocated funds from October 2017. We could not afford to celebrate Holi but the government is not bothered," he added.

The principal of MLSM College in Darbhanga, Mushtaque Ahmed, said: "A teacher who is conditionally compelled to struggle for his own necessities cannot mentor well."

LNMU registrar Mustafa Kamal Ansari told The Telegraph that the funds for the salaries till January had arrived at the treasury and will be disbursed soon.
