Patna, March 27: Azeem O Shaan Shahenshah, the famous song of the Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-starrer Jodhaa Akbar echoed today at SK Memorial Hall in the support of chief minister Nitish Kumar when members of minority community sloganeered: Desh ka pradhan mantri kaisa ho — Nitish Kumar jaisa ho, (How should the Prime Minister be, he should be like Nitish Kumar).

Although Nitish asked them not to project him as a prime ministerial candidate, the slogans continued till the meeting was over.

Nitish was addressing a state-level conference of Rangrez artisans and extremely backward minorities, which was organised by Rangrez Jagran Manch.

Rangrez are people from the Muslim community who work as tailors, weavers and washermen. They had gathered to demand a Mahadalit minority commission.

Nitish said: “I request you with folded hands not to project me as a prime ministerial candidate and let me do my job. I do not want to become the Prime Minister and I am happy with my present work.”

Without taking the name of Lalu Prasad, he said: “I have seen many people in the past including a CM who had a dream of becoming the Prime Minister but they could not even save their post of CM. I don’t want to become a Prime Minister. I have been given the responsibility to take this state ahead and I will live up to the people’s expectation.”

Nitish added: “I do not feel proud of the fact that we have formed the government with a majority. I am not arrogant, I believe in working hard and will now work harder.”
