Student found dead

Patna: A 22-year-old student, identified as Gautam Kumar, was found dead at his home in Anandpuri under the SK Puri police station on Thursday.hen the boy did not open the door of his room in the morning, his family members broke it open and found him hanging. He was taken to Patna Medical College and Hospital, where he was declared dead. No suicide note has been found.

Plea

Patna: A high court division bench of Justice T. Meena Kumari and Justice Gopal Prasad on Thursday asked petitioner Manoj Kumar to present his plea for construction of an army school near Rajgir town to the defence ministry and Nalanda district magistrate.

Tax inflow

Patna: The monthly collection of holding taxes in all four circles of the municipal corporation in December, 2011, stood at an all-time high of Rs 2.58 crore.

Patna: An Australian national, Shah Leh Ali, was detained by Katihar police as he was trying to sell off his motorbike in Dumar village under Kodha police station. Ali was on his way to Bangladesh and had entered India from Nepal. Police said his visa and passport are in order.

Appeal

Patna: An appeal was filed in the high court on Thursday challenging the judgment of single bench, delivered on Wednesday, which directed the Bihar Public Service Commission to publish fresh result of the preliminary test of 53rd to 55th combined competitive examinations after re-evaluating the answer sheets of the unsuccessful candidates.

Health yatra

Patna: The health department is set to launch Jan Swasthya Chetna Yatra from January 28. Health minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey instructed civil surgeons on Thursday to prepare for camps in districts.

Restrain

Patna: A bench of Justice J.N. Singh on Thursday restrained the Bihar State Staff Selection Commission from publishing the results prepared on the basis of interview held for filling up the posts of pharmacists in the state.
