Civic notice served

Patna, Aug. 18: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has served notices to 151 shops, private nursing homes, hotels and apartments in the capital for their alleged failure to clean the garbage dumped by them.MC commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pal on Saturday said initially these business establishments, healthcare centres and apartments have been asked to clean the garbage within a week failing which the corporation would impose fines on them.

Papiya murder

Patna: Mustakim Mian, one of the prime accused in Patna University history professor Papiya Ghosh’s murder, was arrested from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand on Saturday. Patna senior superintendent of police Amrit Raj said that Mian was absconding after Ghosh’s body was found on December 2/3 in 2006.

Patna: Former minister Shakeel Ahmad Khan was buried at Makpa village in Jehanabad with full state honours.
