Stand-in DMs for districts

Patna: In-charge district magistrates (DMs) will take care of the administration of Nalanda, Gaya and Bhojpur till August 12, as the regular DMs will go out of the state to take part in phase III training programme.eputy development commissioners of these districts would be the in-charge DMs.

Counsel

Patna: The central government has appointed S.N. Pathak as senior standing counsel to represent the Centre for three years at the high court.

Strike

Patna: Three members of All India Students’ Association started an indefinite hunger strike to protest against the decision of Patna University authorities to reduce the seats in the varsity.

Dal fight

Patna: JD(U) spokesperson Sanjay Singh asked on suspended JD(U) MP Upendra Kushwaha to declare his assets at present. Kushwaha and some other disgruntled Dal leaders have launched a new political forum.

Verdict

Patna: Additional district and sessions judge Om Prakash Sinha sentenced Patna residents Ishwari Prasad Gupta (60) and Krishna Prasad Gupta (55) to life terms in the murder case of circle officer Pawan Kumar Gupta. Pawan was murdered on August 8, 2004.

Guilty

Patna: Special CBI judge Bashishth Narayan Singh found former booking supervisor of Bakhtiyarpur railway station, Bijay Kumar Rai, guilty of misappropriating the income of the station for 2006-2007 fiscal.

Investigation

Patna: Police are still in dark about the murderer of Sudhir Kumar Sinha, the manager of an under-construction apartment in the SK Puri area. Sudhir’s body was found on Tuesday.

Correction
