Bus kills youth

Hajipur: A youth was killed and another was injured when a bus hit their motorcycle on the NH-77 near Imadpur in Vaishali district on Sunday. he deceased has been identified as Sanjit Kumar Sahni, a resident of Raghunathpur in Vaishali. The injured, Santosh Kumar, has been referred to the Patna Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

 

Study scheme

Patna: Director-general (homeguards) Abhayanand on Sunday inaugurated a scheme to provide free education of mathematics and science to 2 lakh students of classes I to V studying in private schools of the state.

 

Shot dead

Munger: Two armed criminals shot dead former mukhiya of the Shrihishun panchayat Birendra Singh (55) while he was returning home from his field at Kajra village in Lakhisarai district on Sunday.

 

Robbery

Munger: Armed highway criminals robbed two persons, including a truck driver, on the Kharagpur-Jamui main road on Sunday morning. The truck driver was carrying Rs 27,000 in cash.

 

Rape charge

Gaya: A student of a private school has been allegedly raped by the brother of the institution director. Students of the school blocked the road near Sikaria Mor on Sunday for more than an hour to protest against the incident. Gaya SSP Nishant Kumar Tiwary has constituted a team of police officials and asked to conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter.

 

Camp attack

Muzaffarpur: Armed rebels fired indiscriminately at a makeshift camp of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited at Bangra Nizamat village on Sunday evening. The company has expedited the construction of a bridge at Bangraghat on Gandak river. Around 50 rebels, equipped with weapons and firearms, raided the campsite and ransacked it.

 

Traffic plan

Patna: Inspector-general (Patna) A.K. Ambedkar on Sunday directed senior cops to chalk out a plan within a fortnight to regulate traffic in the city.
