Launch of SMS facility

Patna: District and sessions judge Birendra Kumar on Friday inaugurated the SMS facility under e-courts project. he facility has come into force with immediate effect. Patna civil court administration has requested the chairperson of district bar association to file the necessary documents with cellphone numbers of the advocates in the office of the registrar so that that they could be provided information regarding status of their cases on their cellphones.

HC summons

Patna: The high court on Friday summoned director of social welfare department in a case related to human trafficking in the border areas of the state. The court issued the order as the state government failed to file a counter affidavit in this regard earlier directed so by the court.

Blasts PIL

Patna: A PIL filed in the high court seeking probe of the blast during the BJP’s Hunkar Rally on October 27, 2013, was dismissed on Friday.

Four dead

Katihar: Four persons, including two members of a family, died while cleaning an under-construction septic tank at Podhia village on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Rajesh Gupta, Ashok Gupta, Shravan Kumar and Birendra Paswan.

Felicitation

Patna: The Corporation Bank felicitated students, who cleared IIT entrance examination, and Super 30 teachers on Friday. The bank has taken initiative to provide education loans to the students once they secure admission to IITs.

Patna: A new branch of Indian Overseas Bank was inaugurated in Bihta on Friday.

Grievance cell

Patna: A grievance redressal cell has been constituted at the frontier headquarters of SSB Patna for its personnel.

Fresh notice

Patna: The state government on Friday issued a fresh notification regarding the posting of IAS officer Bandana Preyasi asking her to join as additional secretary in the general administration department.
