Mobile power bill vans

Patna, April 24: South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd on Wednesday invited tenders from various firms to provide mobile cash van services for collection of energy bill amounts from consumers under selected electricity supply divisions under Pesu. esu has 10 electricity supply divisions catering to the needs of around 3.5 lakh consumers. This will help consumers to deposit their bills at their convenience and reduce their trouble in depositing bills.

Party meet

Patna: Members of state working committee and district unit presidents of Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, Bihar, would discuss the details of the strategy for raising issues concerning farmers in a meeting of the party to be held on April 27. The party said this was being done because of the “failure of the state government to provide compensation to farmers who lost their standing crops in incidents of fire recently”.

Patna: A high court bench directed Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences to file its reply within three weeks on a petition filed by Kendriya Pensioners’ Samaj and others seeking direction to the authorities for removal of encroachment on a road constructed by the hospital in 2009. ppearing for the petitioner, advocate Awadhesh Kumar Pandit submitted that the road passing through IGIMS connects AG Colony with Bailey Road.

Patna: A high court division bench on Wednesday directed PMC and the state government to file respective replies by Friday on a PIL explaining steps being undertaken to supply drinking water in all parts of the capital.

Police nab criminal

Ara: A team of Bhojpur and Jharkhand police on Wednesday caught one Rakesh Singh, an accused in a number of cases of murder, kidnap and loot. resident of Karnaul village under the jurisdiction Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur, Singh is the prime accused in the murder of a CPI (ML) leader, said sub-divisional police officer Rabish Kumar.

Patna (PTI): Two persons at Pharpur in Sheikhpura district allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl on Tuesday night. The victim was admitted to Sheikhpura Sadar Hospital. One suspect has been arrested. Eight persons at Sisauna in Araria district raped another girl of the same age on Saturday.
