The body of an 18-year-old student has been found near the Bahadurpur railway level crossing on Tuesday morning.

Sources said that the deceased has been identified as Naveen Kumar of Jhajha in Jamui district.

He used to stay at a private lodge to prepare for competitive examinations.

“The police have recovered several articles near the railway tracks beside his body. A picture of him and his mother has been found besides his last year’s matriculation report card. According to the report card, Naveen secured first division marks, a police officer said.

He added: “We have also found a brief suicide note written behind a shopping bill. Although it does not say anything on why he had decided to end his life but mentions that he loves his mother very much. The note, stating that his younger brother is Nipu, has also requested his family to celebrate his birthday each year. We have contacted his father, Bindeshwari Mandal, who works as an LIC agent.”

The officer said: “Bindeshwari is suspecting a foul play in the mishap. However, the note clearly points towards a suicide. The incident took place in early morning hours and the local people spotted his body around 9am.”
