Mrs Asia Universe 2017 Manisha Ranjan (centre) at a news meet in a Patna hotel on Friday. Ranjan, the brand ambassador of Citizen Kabaddi Championship, released the logo of the tournament with JDU leader Shyam Rajak at the programme.

The tournament is aimed at promoting kabaddi among schoolgirls. The state-wide programme will begin from January 10 and conclude in March. Matches will be first played at block levels and then the district level before the finals in March.

Chandan Kumar, secretary of Citizen Foundation that is organising the event, said the tournament proposes to use the occasion to launch a campaign against child marriage, dowry and discrimination against women. Picture by Syed Naqui Imam
