Patna: Former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav said the BJP was shaken by the RJD's huge wins in the Araria and Jehanabad bypolls and expressed fear the Narendra Modi government at the Centre may hasten filing of a chargesheet against him in the railway tender case.
"I know I can be arrested any day." Tejashwi said on the Assembly premises on Friday. He was accompanied by party MLAs and elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav. "After the RJD's big win in the bypolls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Nitish Kumar's confidence has been shaken up. They are afraid the RJD is emerging as a strong party with or without Lalu ji."
Tejashwi said he was not the only who would be troubled. Central investigative agencies will also trouble leaders like Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati. The leader of Opposition in the legislative Assembly said the BJP was angry with them because the SP and BSP had defeated the BJP in their strongholds of Gorakhpur and Phulpur.
The young RJD leader said he was sure the process of filing chargesheets against him would pace up. But he dared deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and chief minister Nitish Kumar to file chargesheet against him. "It's been nine months, but no chargesheet has been filed," Tejashwi said. "Even a child is born in nine months. Why isn't Sushil Modi holding press conferences and waving papers against me anymore? He should hold a press conference to file a chargesheet against me."
He said Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi would not have fled India had the CBI, ED and IT been as pro-active after them as they were against his family. "No investigation is taking place in the Mallya and Nirav Modi case; the focus is just on Lalu's family. Even our relatives are not spared. I'm thankful to the people of Bihar, who saw through this and voted in favour of Lalu ji."
Justice has been done to the people of Bihar, he said.
