Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday failed to give any specific reply to the high court as to how much time it would take to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) for making the city free of the waterlogging menace.
On September 5, the court directed the PMC to tell it on September 25 as to how much time the government needs to prepare the DPR. The court has also directed the civic body to inform it the time the PMC needs to execute the DPR. The PMC failed to furnish a reply on this count too.
The PMC on Thursday told the court that it needs at least 45 days to bring out the tender for preparing the DPR. On this the court took strong exception, as the bench of Justice V.N. Sinha and Justice A.K. Lal observed that if the civic body needs 45 days to float the tender itself, how much time it will take to prepare the same leave alone its implementation process. It ordered urban development department secretary to personally appear in the court on Friday.
