Patna, Oct. 27: Three days after 21-year-old Arya allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Patrakar Nagar, one of the three prime accused named in her suicide note was arrested today.

Patna senior superintendent of police B.S. Meena confirmed The Telegraph that one of the three boys had been arrested and was being interrogated.

Meena did not disclose the name of the arrested youth, though. He said it could hamper the probe.

Sources said the arrested youth was Pushkar — a friend of Arya’s boyfriend Harsh, the main accused in the case.

“One among the three boys named in the suicide note has been arrested and the police are interrogating him to get more information. Things will come to light very soon,” the SSP said.

Patna City superintendent of police Manu Maharaj said the police were looking into the case from all angles.

“The police are taking into account all the angles related to the case. Necessary investigations are on,” he said.

Sources said police teams had been constituted and the cops raided several places to arrest those named in Arya’s suicide note.

The sources said the teams have raided different places in Jehanabad, Dehri-on-Sone in Rohtas and Bihar Sharif in Nalanda district. They added that the police, after questioning Stuti, who stayed in Arya’s adjoining flat in Laxmi Apartment, have come across some leads in the case.

Maharaj said Arya’s post-mortem report was expected this evening, which would help solve the case to a certain extent.

A family friend of Arya said that the girl’s family had left for their village at Masauri, 45km from Patna. “The family has left for their native place,” Ashish, a family friend of Arya said.

Arya, an MBA student, was found hanging in her house on Monday. A suicide note was recovered near her body that narrated a tale of torture she underwent at the hands of Harsh and his friends.

However, two different types of handwriting in the suicide note puzzled the police.

Meena said yesterday that the writing of a major portion of the letter was not Arya’s. The police have decided to scan the letter taking help of handwriting analysis experts.
