Patna: Police on Friday arrested two bootleggers from Adarash Colony under the jurisdiction of RK Nagar police station area.
The two youths - Vikram Kumar and Sunny Kumar residents of RK Nagar - used to deliver liquor at home. They had taken a room on rent at Adarsh Nagar where they used to store the banned goods.
A police officer part of the investigation said: "They had taken a room on rent to stock liquor. They used to store liquor in a pit carved out by digging up the mud inside the room."
RK Nagar station house officer Ranjan Kumar said the youths used to deliver liquor at home to people who they knew. "Liquor was generally supplied during the night to evade arrests," he said.
Ranjan said the police had inputs that a local gang was operating the liquor smuggling. The police conducted raids and arrested the duo. The police seized 200 bottles of liquor, which were brought from Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Jharkhand.
On Thursday the police had seized 50 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor and arrested two persons from Patliputra Colony. The consignment was being transported in specially designed boxes in a tractor. The consignment was brought from Haryana and was supposed to be delivered to a local bootlegger.
