Patna, July 19: Buoyed by its landslide victory in the Lok Sabha polls in Bihar, the BJP today set itself a ‘Mission 175+’ seats for the next Assembly elections in the state.

“We should win 175-plus seats in the next Assembly elections in the state (in October-November 2015). We were targeting two-thirds of the Assembly seats (162) but 175-plus includes the two-thirds,” BJP national general secretary (organisation) Ramlal said, while addressing the state party executive meeting here.

Ramlal said the meeting should be construed as the beginning of preparation for the Assembly polls. While addressing the two-day meeting, which began at Gate Public Library in Gardanibagh, BJP state chief Mangal Pandey said leaders and workers should work to win 175-plus seats for the NDA in next Assembly elections.

“We have achieved the target of 272-plus in the general election. We cannot be complacent with that victory. We will repeat the same formula in the Assembly polls.”

Senior leaders from the state attended the two-day meet.The list included MPs, MLAs, MLCs, two union ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad and Radha Mohan Singh, and a host of other prominent leaders that included national general secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Sushil Kumar Modi, Shatrughan Sinha and Nand Kishore Yadav.

Union minister for communications and information technology Ravi Shankar Prasad said: “The Centre wants Bihar to have manufacturing hubs for electronic goods in the state to improve employment and revenue opportunities. We are ready to provide all help to establish electronic manufacturing hubs, as they would increase employment and revenue opportunities in the state. I have written to the chief minister.”
