Constable hiring in legal tangle
Patna: Police have detected as many as 182 cases of impersonation during the screening of documents for constable recruitment process in the state.
A source in the Central Selection Board of Constables, Bihar, said 62 cases of impersonation were reported on Friday. The government had initiated the process for recruitment of 11,783 constables in 2014. The written test was conducted on October 19, 2014, at various examination centres. Around 52,000 candidates were selected for screening of documents.
Cop falls from train, dies
Sasaram: A police inspector, Ajay Kumar Singh (55), died after he fell from a running train at Dehri railway station in Rohtas late on Thursday night. Singh, who was posted with the criminal investigation department in Jharkhand, met with the accident while trying to board the Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express.
Broadband
Chhapra: As many as 200 out of 323 panchayats in Saran district would be provided with broadband connection by the end of March. BSNL general manager Alok Kumar said daily review of the project, which entails this connectivity, was being done to ensure its timely completion.
Minor killed
Siwan: Twelve-year-old Vikas Yadav of Ziradei village was allegedly killed by his cousin Pramod Yadav on Thursday night. Vikas's father Ramchandra Yadav lodged an FIR with the local police onFriday naming Pramod as an accused after which police arrested him.
Fire tragedy
Gopalganj: Laxmi Kumari (15), a resident of Dobwalia village, died after a fire broke out in her house owing to a leak in stovepipe that connects it to the LPG cylinder on Thursday night.
Press club
Chhapra: The town would soon have a press club building being constructed at Rs 77 lakh. District public relations officer Birendra Shukla on Friday said the building would come up on the collectorate premises and the plot for the same has been identified.
Bank account
Patna: Punjab National Bank would partially freeze bank accounts of customers who have not updated their know your customer (KYC) details with the bank.
