Patna: Friends of Bihar, an NGO, organised a signature campaign on Thursday, to raise voice against atrocities against women. The campaign was organised to save women from domestic violence and other such crimes.
The national president of the organisation, Bihari Bhaiya, and the director of distance education in Patna University, Ranvijay Singh, were present during the campaign at Income Tax roundabout.
The NGO demanded a separate bus service for women and deployment of police in plain clothes near educational institutions. They also demanded that cases related to women should be heard in fast track-courts by women judges.

Patna: JD(U) state unit president Bashishtha Narayan Singh on Thursday distributed 1,200 blankets among the needy in Begusarai district. He was invited by party MLA Narendra Kumar Singh alias Bogo Singh from Matihani Assembly. State JD(U) youth wing vice-president Om Prakash was also present on the occasion.

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday mourned the death of Padma Vibhushan award winner Vaidraj Brihaspati Dev Triguna. In his condolence message, Nitish said the doctor’s death has caused irreparable loss in the field of Ayurvedic treatment. Nitish spoke to his son Vaidraj Devendra Triguna over the phone and expressed his grief.
