Manhole order for PMC

Patna: The high court on Monday directed Patna Municipal Corporation to cover all open manholes in the city within six weeks, failing which strict action will be taken against those responsible to abide by the order.

Acting Chief Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari and Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh passed the order. PMC commissioner Jai Singh filed an affidavit, stating allotment of tenders to complete the work has been done.

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday extended greetings to the people on Dhanteras.

Legal action

Munger: Munger divisional commissioner Liyan Kunga on Monday directed the district magistrates of Munger, Khagaria and Begusarai to take legal action against lease-holders of Munger Ferry Service, which plies steamer on the Ganga between Munger and Khagaria, for taking more passengers than permissible on the vessel.
