Patna, Aug. 4: The BJP will felicitate at a function in SK Memorial hall 13 of its leaders who have become ministers in the new NDA government in the state.
The BJP's Union ministers and MPS from Bihar have been invited for the function on August 8 , which would also witness participation of party office-bearers from the district- and block-level units.
"The Parliament monsoon session makes it tough for Union ministers and MPs to attend the function. Yet, we have got oral assurance from some of the ministers about their participation in the event," a BJP functionary told The Telegraph on Friday.
Later in the day, party state unit president Nityanand Rai came up with a press statement that the participants in the August 8 function would take oath for making Bihar a corruption-free and developed state.
Of 13 BJP ministers in Bihar, 10 have become ministers for the first time and some of them looked quite elated over the party's plan to organise a function on such a scale.
"I am going to use this function to listen to the advice of our senior leaders for doing my work properly and meet the expectations of our party leaders as a minister," said one of the first-time ministers.
Another pointed out that he would use the function to interact with party functionaries from districts and blocks and solicit their suggestions for his department to help him set his priorities right. "An honest feedback from party functionaries would be a big help for me, as it would give me a feel of people's expectations from my department," he added.
The BJP, on the other hand, has planned a series of programmes after the August 8 function, which would continue till the end of this month.
Commencing on August 9, when the country celebrates the 75th year of the Quit India Movement, the party would organise programmes across the state in which special functions would be held to show respect to freedom fighters.
On August 10, party workers would take out Tricolour procession across the state and on the eve of Independence Day, special programmes would be organised in the evening.
This Independence Day the party workers would take pledge to get India rid of corruption, terrorism and other issues concerning the country.
From August 16 to 30 the party would organise different programmes in which its senior leaders would take part and would deliberate on the concept of New India.
