| Physiology professor of Patna Medical College and Hospital, Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, speaks after taking charge as the president of the state unit of Indian Medical Association on Sunday. Prasad said: “It is a great honour to be a member of Indian Medical Association and becoming its president is a great responsibility. I am indebted to the members of the association for giving me this opportunity. I feel that I have limited wisdom to carry out this responsibility but I am confident that I shall be able to deliver to the best of my ability with the support of the members of the association. We have problems in the health sector in Bihar. The state government has never considered the opinion of the medical fraternity or solved the problems of the health sector. We often hear incidents of assault on doctors, medical establishments and hospitals in the state, painting a grim picture of the state’s health sector. As the association’s state president, I would like to raise these issues.” Text by Shuchismita Chakraborty, Telegraph picture |
