Farmers in at least 20 districts will get voice messages on their cellphones regarding agriculture and climate related information from August 5.

Bihar Agriculture University director (extension education) R.K. Sohane said such a service was launched for local farmers under the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sabour, with the help of IIT-Kanpur on January 26.

“Having witnessed its success, we have now decided to launch the service to all farmers from the KVKs in 20 districts under the BAU jurisdiction,” Sohane said.

At least five messages would be sent every month.
