Dec. 29: The state joint entrance (JEE) examination board will organise mock online counselling for engineering candidates next year.
Board chairman Malayendu Saha said the mock session would help students not familiar with computers. Such students, board sources said, are prone to making mistakes while stating their choices about institutes and courses.
Candidates can take part in the mock online counselling through the board's websites - http://www.wbjeeb.in/ and www.wbjeeb.nic.in - after the JEE results are announced.
"The counselling software has been designed in a way that students get a clear idea about the procedure," Saha said.
Next year's joint entrance exams will be held on April 23.
The board today announced several other measures, reported in Metro earlier. They are
• The candidates will have to write in ballpoint pens to be supplied by the board
• The candidates have to write their cell phone numbers and email addresses on the answer scripts
• The board will upload OMR sheets and machine-read response on its portal
• Candidates unhappy with the evaluation can challenge the process on payment of fees
• Each examinee must carry a colour photograph, which has to match the photograph on the identity proof.
