Watch Chhau artistes from Purulia dance to the rhythm of the dhol, pick up an intricate patachitra for your home, bite into a crispy fish fry or taste some sinfully sweet ’n’ syrupy lyangcha from Shaktigarh — all this and more in the heart of the city.

Welcome to The Telegraph presents Bagbazar Festival, a three-day jamboree of art and craft, music and food to celebrate the joy and diversity of all that defines Bengal and its culture and heritage at the steeped-in-history Bagbazar Durga Puja ground from February 14 to 16.

The festival will begin with actress Paoli Dam and filmmaker Mainak Bhaumik chatting about their childhood memories of north Calcutta.

One of the highlights of the festival will be a gallery of photographs capturing the many moods of Suchitra Sen as a tribute to the Mahanayika.

The fairground will be dotted with stalls selling everything from Chhau masks and patachitra to embroidered paintings, wooden sculptures and dokra curios.
