Body found Heroin haul Teesta alert

Body found

Noida, Sept. 10: The body of a student of Amity Business School here was found in a bush near the Noida-Greater Noida expressway today, police said.

Martin (20), a resident of Sikkim, was doing a diploma in tourism and stayed at the college hostel. According to the police, the youth was addicted to drugs and could have died of an overdose of some contraband.

Another student of the same college, who hailed from the Northeast, was found dead last year. (PTI)


Heroin haul

Raiganj: Police here recovered 350 gm of heroin, worth Rs 35 lakh, from a private bus on the Malda-Siliguri route on Sunday afternoon. Acting on information that a middle-aged woman was carrying the narcotics, the police raided the municipal bus stand here and found the drugs inside a leather bag in the vehicle.


Teesta alert

Jalpaiguri: The district administration issued an yellow alert in unprotected areas of Domohoni and NH 31 near the Teesta on Sunday. Owing to incessant rain in the hills, the water level of the Teesta has crossed the 24.3-m mark.
